Gold Vault
Old Treasury Building
Arterial Design
2019
A permanent exhibition for the Old Treasury Building told the story of the Eureka Stockade, encircling the visitor in interpretive panels that evoked the timber forms of the stockade. The building itself informed many elements of the design including the arched shape of a feature light box, the positioning of an original gold pan and lighting design decisions.
The heritage builder called for floor-mounted design as wall fixings were prohibited. I worked with a graphic designer to incorporate large amounts of curatorial text in a graphically compelling way, culminating in a complex assembly of steel, SAV and lasercut 2pack MDF lettering, for which I produced the full documentation set.
